Hazardous Stickers

Hazardous stickers are not just a requirement by OSHA or the EPA. They are just good business practice. Workers, customers and others who are in the area need to know when they are around hazardous materials or waste products. There is a full line of stickers available online for notifying the public or your own employees of hazards in the work place.

Hazardous stickers like placards will let people know exactly what kind of danger is present in a container or truck. They are usually labeled flammable, explosive, poisonous, corrosive or another term that describes the danger inherent in a chemical or hazardous waste product. Bio hazards should also be carefully labeled so that people know to stay away from them.

Hazardous stickers
are durable and long lasting. They can withstand extreme temperatures and are able to stay readable after many rains, snows and hail events. They are made to keep outdoors if necessary. If the stickers do become unreadable, you will need to replace them. They are doing no good if people cannot read the warnings on them.

Hazardous stickers
will also notify first responders or emergency workers if there is an accident in the work site. The workers can then take the necessary precautions to keep themselves and the other people in the area safe. This can also protect you from property damage in many cases. If a product is involved in a flood there will be different dangers than if it was involved in a fire or explosion.

Hazardous stickers are usually color coded so that you can tell the level of danger by the color without reading the entire warning. Sometimes it is the color and not the message itself that warns people of the danger of a certain place or thing. Other stickers are available that will warn people not to park in the area or block an area that needs to be accessible by disposal trucks or other vehicles.

Hazardous stickers
are available online. They are not very expensive, and they can save you a lot of money in fines or lawsuits if you do not have the required stickers on a hazardous material or other object. Electrical systems should also be marked with the appropriate stickers so that workers and others in the area will remember the danger associated with electrical systems.

Hazardous stickers
are not a replacement for good security procedures, but they are a good addition to the other systems that you have in place. Keep things that might be taken and used for ill purposed locked up and out of the reach of the general public. It is a good idea to have locks and chains on cans or containers kept outdoors that hold hazardous wastes or materials.

Hazardous stickers
are the first step to keeping people safe around dangerous situations. If you need assistance with choosing the stickers you need for your job site, the EPA has their guidelines posted online for anyone to use and to read. You can also print them out to keep in your office.
